Ambassador of a country are usually in place as the country representative in friendly countries. But this time a bit odd sounding. United Nations (UN) appointed Ambassador of Planet Earth to outer space territory.
As reported by Telegraph.co.uk edition of 26 September 2010, when the plan is approved, the UN appointed astrophysicist from Malaysia, Mazlan Othman to be Ambassador of Planet Earth which will receive visitors from outer space creatures.
The 58-year-old woman is scheduled to be served as a point of first contact with an alien planet. If there are aliens who would land on Earth and said, "Take me to your leader," then they will be directed to Mazlan Othman.
Othlan will submit proposed details of his new assignment to the Conference of the Royal Societu in Buckinghamshire, England. Othlan asked to do research about the new findings, including hundreds of new planets that orbit. Hopefully, the findings could be better than existing ones.
Mazlan Othman himself is currently serving as head of a small office of the United Nations in outer space, or known by Unoosa, Outer Space Affairs. In a conversation with a number of scientists, Othman said, "The search for extraterrestrial advanced by several companies, sustain the hope that one day humans will receive a signal from extraterrestrials."
Professor Richard Crowther, space law expert who led the British National Space Agency delegation to the UN, said: "Othman is the man. He who can lead the aliens to meet with people."
Plans to create a UN Ambassador to Outer Space, including meetings with the aliens being debated at the United Nations Scientific Advisory Committee. As a result, this plan must go through public hearing first.
In the outer space treaty year, 1967, UN members agreed to protect the Earth against alien species contamination with "sterilize" them.
Controversial scientist Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that humans should be carefully related to the aliens. In fact, Hawking imagined alien creatures are on a big ship and have used all the resources of the planet.
They will be expanding into the earth. Expansion was, "It would be far greater than when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, and not good for Native Americans," Hawking said in one occasion.
