Intel Corp.. stated that their joint venture business with the Intel-Micron Micron Flash Technologies (IMFT) has started marketing the product flash with 25 nanometer manufacturing process.

This new flash memory enables Intel, Micron, and its partners to increase the capacity of flash-based device is significantly, for example a flash disk or solid state drive (SSD).
Announced in February, IMFT was the first company that makes the present sample and the NAND flash market to 25 nanometer manufacturing process which is currently the smallest.

As an example, a memory chip 25 nanometer capacity of NAND flash 8GB measures just 167 square millimeters. The memory can be used for USB flash disk, SD card, installed in the camera images and video, smartphones, music or multimedia players, and solid state drives.

As quoted from XbitLabs, May 19, 2010, Intel will also update the ranks of solid state drive for mainstream and consumer segments in the fourth quarter of this year.

Solid state drives with the code name Refresh will Postville-based flash chips are 25 nanometers. SSD for mainstream desktop and notebook PCs, the X25-M will be available with a capacity of 160, 300, and 600GB. X18-M for ultra-thin notebook with a capacity of 160 and 300GB.

The X25-class V for value, is available with a capacity of 80GB. Currently no information on the approximate price for a product that will be circulated at the end of the year 2010
