Albatron Technology, a manufacturer of computer components and peripherals from Taiwan will present Multi-touch External Module EM215 at Computex 2010 event in the future.
EM215 device adopting optical technologies and are compatible with the touch features of Windows. Thus, users can easily install EM215, with only drove it into the USB port.
"Windows 7 supports touch technology, but most users can not enjoy it unless they buy a PC or a monitor that supports touch screen," said a spokesman for Albatron, in his testimony, May 20, 2010.
Albatron mention, by hanging EM215 is only 1.9 millimeters thick on the LCD monitor is owned by the user, they can upgrade their LCD screen into a touch screen with ease.
EM215 module itself is an external touch screen that is designed for 21.5-inch LCD monitor with 16:9 aspect ratio. However, Albatron claims the additional equipment is also compatible with 16:9 or 4:3 monitors that had the other below the display size of 478x269 millimeters.
Present without additional driver or device, this tool in Windows 7 supports multi-touch. As in Windows XP and Vista, it only supports single-touch. Calibration itself is available by default, users have no need to adjust the touch calibration settings.
Users can use a finger, ballpoint, or ruler as a means of touch. In this device, Albatron also has provided anti-scratch coating. When in operation, EM215 requires only less than 1 watt power alone.
