Sony will Launch Competitors iPad

Sony Corp. plans to develop a tablet computer tablet to rival Apple's iPad. Sony is optimistic that the tablets will be able to defeat the iPad in the market.

"We have plans to develop a tablet since a few years ago, and not because Apple has made in advance and we steal the opportunity," said Mike Abary, senior vice president of Sony Information Technology Products as reported by Bloomberg, Monday (17/05/2010).

Recognized Abary, iPad it has provided new opportunities for a number of computer vendors. "Now we can get a good assessment, whether the market really accept the tablet computer," he said.

Furthermore Abary said, now Sony is planning to focus on developing a handheld device such as Reader device featuring digital books.

A survey conducted by Boston Consulting Group on 13 000 Internet users in 14 countries found that two-thirds of respondents prefer a device that can do more than one job (Multitasking).
