An international trade group representing manufacturers of portable expressed their desire to standardize on additional audio devices and USB plug.
Additional audio devices such as earphones and a USB plug is usually found in laptops and some mobile products such as mobile phones, MP3 players, cameras and video cameras.
Launched through, Yahoo Tech News, Thursday (8/10/2009), the CTIA Wireless Association is seeking a standard for devices such enhancement in the form of 3.5-millimeter-sized plug. Plug it will be compatible with earphones, headphones and micro-USB connection commonly used in mobile devices.
Already standardized plug is rumored to be introduced and marketed to the public after months of January 2012.
"Equalizing the input and output of products on mobile devices will be able to improve the industrial economy as well as to reduce production costs, which impact on the cheapening of the product price," said CTIA President Steve Largent.
Previously, CTIA members agree with the decision to create a universal charger compatible with all mobile phone brands. U.S. communications regulators on both welcomed this decision.
