Google had just launched a tool that helps scientists and environmental activists to watch every change that occurs in the forest on Earth.

"We hope this technology can help stop the destruction of forests the world," Google spokesman said Rebecca Moore, as quoted by the AFP, Jumat (11/12/2009).

This technology allows scientists to analyze the raw data from satellite imagery and get information such as locations of deforestation, or forests that undergo a process of regeneration.

This system is focused Google in a way 'cloud computing' data center technology that is connected to the Internet. Such systems allow the data can be sent directly only in the interval of a few seconds after the forest cleared, burned or leveled.

"By detecting the activity of forest destruction more quickly can help support law enforcement in the area of environmental violations and to prevent forest damage worse," said Moore.

Emissions resulting from tropical forest destruction is proportional to the emissions generated by all EU countries. The amount can even bigger than the expelled gas emissions cars, trucks, planes, trains and ships around the world fire.

The device has demonstrated the technology at Google's climate change conference in Copenhagen, Danish which lasted from 6 until December 18, 2009.
