New Features Google Without Miracle

As an information technology company, Google is indeed unique. Almost all products can be called miraculous products. Applications seeker is seeking applications and the number one most widely used. Beginning in December 2009, Google launched the Google Public DNS (Domain Name System). Like the products others, many Internet users are enthusiastically welcomed this new service.

DNS is the Internet standard protocol, which is used to convert domain names into Internet protocol addresses. For example, before accessing the site fotografer.net, first used the computer to perform DNS queries to the DNS server is listed on the computer.

Typically, the DNS servers listed in our computer is a DNS server on the local network, or ISP's DNS server (Internet Service Provider) which we subscribed. After getting IP Address of the requested domain name, our computer can then communicate with the destination server, or can open an Internet site.

Speed

Google claims, DNS servers allow her access to the Internet more quickly and ensure its control protocol is more secure. The promise of this speed is questionable, especially for users in Indonesia.

Speed surf more determined how much Internet bandwidth is obtained from the ISP. Although control of vital communications protocols, the data size is very small compared to the entire Internet data communications.

DNS request could be happened very quickly, usually less than 1 second. However, due to our limited internet pipe, then the data are transmitted slowly.

To navigate to a site and open a few pages from that site, the request control is only done once, ie when you first open the site. Furthermore there is no need to control demand because the computer will remember the data, for not opening the site with a different domain.

Until this article was made, Google does not have a DNS server service on the local network Indonesia. If our ISP's DNS does not have a problem, the demand for control will be faster because the distance from the computer to the ISP's DNS server closer to the DNS servers rather than Google's.

Losses

On the other hand, there are losses that may be experienced when using public DNS servers. Internet in Indonesia has grown so rapidly in recent years. With the support of several ISPs in Indonesia, Akamai (a Content Delivery Network) has a few servers on the local network Indonesia. This system allows the international sites, such as Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Adobe, and many other sites, can be accessed locally and do not require international bandwidth at the user side.

This system works by stimulating the control system so that local users will access the server on the local network, not the server in the international network. If we use the DNS servers of Google's public, we will not be able to feel easier. Our access will lead to an international network, resulting in slow access to the site, and is a waste of international bandwidth.

I wonder what the underlying Google launched this new service, similar to the OpenDNS service, which has been running long enough. In fact, OpenDNS has additional features that are not owned by Google's control, the ability to filter out sites, such as pornography, or any other cause.
