'City Agriculture' Virus Taxable Facebook

Computer security experts warn, the popular farming game on Facebook, Town Farm infected with malicious viruses.

It is estimated there are approximately 9.6 million potential players Farm Town hit by this attack, and computer security experts suggested that they put a powerful anti-virus as soon as possible.

SlashKey, the company behind the success of Farm Town, has warned its users that some of the ads that appear in the game is actually a fake antivirus warning. These ads are designed to trick users into believing that their computer is infected with a virus. If it is so, the user will click on those ads to buy antivirus software, but actually the site asking them to provide detailed information on credit card.

Reported by the Telegraph, Tuesday (13/4/2010), a computer security company Sophos confirmed that hundreds of users experiencing problems Farm Town. However, many of whom do not know that they are exposed to a scam.

"Bervirus Ads appear on a user's computer from third-party advertising network," said Sophos senior technology consultant Graham Cluley.

According to him other than asking users reported that they experienced attacks, SlashKey also have to turn off third-party ads that appeared in Farm Town.

"Until the Town Farm makers can solve these problems bervirus ads, my advice to users is to stop playing that game for a while and make sure that the computer really protected by antivirus software that is always updated," he said.
