i-CHAT, Applications for the Deaf

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) in cooperation with the National Federation for the Deaf Welfare of Indonesia (FNKTRI) and Yayasan Familiar (I Can Hear and Speak) launched an application and portal for the community, especially school teachers Extraordinary (SLB) and people old, in the process of language learning for deaf children. A portal called i-CHAT (I Can Hear And Talk) can be accessed free of charge.
Official applications are available beginning Saturday (17/4/2010) was made in two modes ie offline mode, in which the user must install the program on his computer and an online mode where the user can run the application by accessing the website at http:/ i-CHAT / www.i-chat.web.id. Today is a new portal application includes an online i-CHAT consists of 5 modules, namely Dictionary, Finger Alphabet, Numbers, Thematic, and Flats sentence.

Learning modules can still be further developed either in the form of an application with games, animation, video, or journals / articles related to education and teaching methods for deaf children. Overall these learning materials can be packaged as modules with the concept of e-learning. Further development of the portal i-CHAT is to form a forum, social networking media, and the concept of user generated content.
