During most people consider the Mac operating system is the most secure from malware attacks. This assumption is proved wrong.

"Since 2005, there has been a big increase vulnerability in Mac OS that can be used to conduct attacks over the Internet," explains Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia Gun Suk Ling, told PC World, Monday (16/11/2009).

To counter these attacks, Kaspersky Lab announced the launch of its newest product, Kaspersky Antivirus for the Mac. According to Kaspersky, the new product is a shield to protect the Mac OS from viruses, worms, and Trojan, which is the same problem on other operating systems like Windows and Linux.

"For example, the Mac can be influenced by a Trojan without making threats come without notice," he added.

To protect your Mac against viruses, Kaspersky anti-virus for the Mac has a global anti-virus database of more than 20 million malicious programs from a variety of platforms. Other features, there are also hourly updates to ensure users are protected from the latest malicious programs that appear every day.

To prevent the transfer of malware from Windows and Unix systems into the virtual work environment, protective responses are added to the Kaspersky Anti-Virus for shared folders on the virtual machine, which is also gaining popularity among corporate and home users.

Problem compatibility, this product can work on Machintosh with OS 10.4.11. To use this Mac specific Kasperksy users should have the Intel processor, 512 MB RAM and 80 MB HDD as the technical requirements.
