For the first time, replacing the Mozilla Firefox Internet Explorer (IE) as the most popular web browsers and most widely used in mainland Europe. This fire fox browser grabbed 38.1 percent market share while IE of 37.5 percent.

IE unfortunate fate was not finished. Not only the competition between IE and Firefox is interesting listening to. Google Chrome slowly erode its market share from the other side. Just imagine, at this time the browser made by Google that controls 14.6 percent from only 5.1 percent at the end of last year.

"This is the first time Internet Explorer abdicated in one main area. This happens because Google Chrome managed to steal market share IE while Firefox continues to maintain existing market share," said Aodhan Cullen, chief executive of StatCounter web analytics specialist, quoted VIVAnews of Telegraph, Wednesday, January 5, 2011.

"It also needs to be seen as a result of an agreement between the European Commission and Microsoft are approved if a user in Europe given the right to choose the browser that they want since March last year," he said.

As is known, since early 2010, Microsoft decided to present the 12 options the Internet browser outside of IE on millions of customers in Europe. This step was taken as part of the deal in December 2009, in which European Union regulators accept Microsoft's promise to provide greater access to competitors.

If IE falling in Europe, the Windows default browser is still leading in North America now. IE controls 48.92 percent, far enough below it Firefox with 26.7 percent, followed Chrome 12.82 percent and 10.16 percent Safari.
