U.S. coldest

Currently, the winter snow blanketing the middle of the countries in the region north of the equator. According to weather forecasts of various institutions, a severe winter will continue to hit until mid or late January.

Based on these predictions, AccuWeather, weather monitoring institutions from the United States that was established in 1962 states, in January 2011 will be the coldest January since 1985, past or over a period of 26 years, in the United States.

"Despite unusually cold weather in some regions in recent years, overall the United States have never undergone a thorough winter like this since the 1980s," said Joe Bastardi, chief forecaster AccuWeather Long Range.
