Google Break Writer Copyright China

Google was tripping problems. Internet giant was accused of intentionally and illegally scan paper China writer for digital library materials, Google Books.

Based on information from the agency called China Written Works Copyright Society (CWWCS), there are approximately 18,000 books are the work of 570 writers China Google has scanned and incorporated into their digital library list.

"The violation does Google do with the writers of China is not acceptable," said Deputy Director General CWWCS Zhang Hongbo was quoted as saying by China Daily, Wednesday (21/10/2009).

Government of China through the institution of national copyright administration or the National Copyright Administration, promised to press the U.S. government to address this problem thoroughly.

"So far there are no authors who claim that Google has asked for permission to scan their works," said Zhang.

Meanwhile, Google itself has not given official information related to this. Google has been scanning millions of recorded books with copyright under U.S. control since 2004.

Under the deal offered by Google, authors whose work is scanned by Google will receive compensation of $ 60 per book. In addition, authors also get royalties of 63 percent of each access handiwork.
