Twitter So Compulsory Curriculum in Australia

Twitter is now not just a social networking site where the spread of information. Mikroblogging site is now even included in the compulsory curriculum for students majoring in journalism at various universities in Australia.

"Some tweet or message that made the students on Twitter may seem simple. However, by using the tweet as a practice essay writing task seems to be very beneficial," said one senior faculty member of Griffith University, Jacqui Ewart, as quoted by the Times of India, Monday (19/10/2009).

Twitter has become a phenomenon in the online world with all the typical 140 character message. This service also contribute in the delivery of information during a horrendous events such as elections in Iran.

"Twitter are now often used by politicians, including Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd. Meanwhile, young children and among students to make Twitter as a medium for self-reflection skills," said Ewart.

Responding to the implementation of Twitter in the curriculum of the journalism department mahsiswa in Australia, came various reactions of the students indicated that kangaroo country.

According to Ewart some of them think, Twitter is just the media to have fun, so it's no fun if Twitter into the education curriculum.
