samsung intend to launch the operating system for smart phones based on Linux. His name is Bada.
Bada comes from the Korean word for "ocean" and will be fully open platform. If a developer can write it, it will run Bada, so expectations about the OS that Nokia is in the same level with the Nokia and the Maemo project's Limo from Linux Mobile Foundation.
Bada is expected to slide in the first half of 2010. This OS can also be customized further by telecom operators. The end of this December, developers probably would have been able to peek Bada.
Meanwhile Samsung still uses the Symbian platform from Nokia. But sure Bada Samsung will be replacing the Symbian and Windows Mobile, at least in the South Korean manufacturer markets.
