era of 4G, LTE will be present side by side with WiMAX. However, LTE is expected to more popular because more supported LTE mobile phone maker, which produces LTE handsets and modems.

Jump in demand for mobile internet connection high speed at the Asia Pacific region to encourage mobile operators to offer the technology to implement and more efficient connections.
Research firm International Data Corp. (IDC) estimates, mobile internet technology LTE (Long Term Evolution) will become an idol in Asia Pacific within the next few years. IDC explains, the high demand for mobile internet connection high speed at the Asia Pacific region is reflected in the high demand for mobile internet connection HSPA (High Speed Packet Access).

Just an explanation, HSPA is a technology that combines HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access). With HSPA connection technology, users can enjoy mobile Internet access with connection speeds and higher stability. Currently HSPA technology has a lot invested in top-class smartphones and cellular modems.

IDC confirmed, the use of HSPA services in Asia Pacific rose rapidly in the last 18 months. HSPA is a relatively new technology. But until the end of 2009, IDC estimates that the use of HSPA in the Asia Pacific has been able to penetrate the numbers 43.6 million connections.

Theoretically, the technology promises HSPA downlink speed of up to 14.0 Mbps (megabits per second) and 5.8 Mbps uplink. In the standard 3G (third generation), the speed of HSPA is already very high.

But in the era of 4G (fourth generation), the speed HSPA apparently not high enough. Therefore, in the 4G era, the mobile operator is expected to replace the HSPA to LTE. 4G technology standard is not only LTE, because there are WiMAX technology (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access). However, IDC estimates that LTE will be more widely used because LTE supported more giant mobile phone maker.

"Success HSPA and increased demand for bandwidth that happens constantly, would encourage the implementation of LTE in the region-the Asia Pacific region which already has HSPA. WiMAX of course also be present and complementarity with LTE," said Telecommunications Research Director IDC Asia Pacific Bill Rojas.

Rojas rate, consumers can enjoy real mobile internet access with high speed with HSPA.

However, HSPA proved burdensome for HSPA mobile operators require infrastructure investments constantly, as the increased use of bandwidth. If the HSPA infrastructure capacity is not added when the usage increases, the speed drops. Because LTE obtain greater support from handset manufacturers and a modem, will be available later more LTE handsets and modems, rather than WiMAX.

The producers of the most aggressive technology to develop LTE technology is the third largest mobile phone maker LG Electronics Inc. the world and second largest mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics Co., the world Ltd.. LG and Samsung are two of the Asian mobile phone manufacturer. The two companies also have a very large customer base in Asia.

More than that, LG and Samsung also have long experimented with mobile internet connection high speed in their home countries, namely South Korea, known as the country most widely used Internet connections in Asia, and even the world. Motorola claimed to have developed LTE technology since around 2006. Motorola also has demonstrated LTE technology since 2008. However, the new Motorola plans LTE mobile phone market in 2010.

Samsung also plans to market a range of mobile LTE at the same time with LG. "LTE Chip LG is the result of significant research and development for years, and we are proud of our achievements. I am sure, when released 4G cellular services next year, Motorola will market leading handsets with this technology," said President & Chief Executive Officer of LG Electronics Mobile Communications CoDr Skott Ahn.
